The Drakyn are Your Worst Nightmare

On the reptile-dominated otherworld of Drakonia, where matter is malleable and most are adept at transforming it, the young cook Wren lives without the shape-altering skill of transmogrifee. She survives by her wits, gritty determination and a bit of luck, but that luck is about to fail her.

Thinking themselves benevolent overlords and enamored with human culture, the dragon-like drakyn mimic human dress and historical eras with clumsy enthusiasm, even as they enslave and abuse their subjects.

Wren is captured by a drakyn warrior to serve as a cook in a palace that is in a constant state of tasteless remodeling by its transmographically talented residents. She wishes only to live in peace and maybe learn a few new recipes. Instead, her adventures take her and her eclectic group of companions across a treacherous, battle-scarred landscape. When they discover where her true abilities lie, using a scientific device called the abacusian to amplify that power, it will transform them–and their world–forever.

Elevated by humor and wit and anchored by dark truths, Chronicles of the Drakyn War is epic fantasy with a fiendish twist.
